Pacific Clipper Postal History During World War II

Route : DLH (Deutsche Lufthansa) or ABA (Swedish Airlines) from Stockholm to Berlin to Munich to Lisbon ; FAM 18 Atlantic Clipper to New York; US domestic airlines to San Francisco; FAM 14 from San Francisco to Hong Kong; CNAC to Chungking; Backstamped at Chungking; Marked Return To Sender For Full Address, and sent back to Sweden via Burma, India, and Germany.

Notes : Two-ocean air cover, which travelled completely Around the World. There are many auxiliary markings on the cover including - By air over the Atlantic, through the USA, and over the Pacific handstamp applied in Sweden. AV2 and NOT OPENED BY CENSOR applied in Hong Kong. The Return To Sender attached paper was applied at Chungking. Triangle Censor 12 was applied in Burma. White Censor tape was applied in India. Geoffnet Censor tape applied in Germany on the way back to Sweden. There is a handwritten note at bottom left in red dated Jan 15, 1942, which may indicate when the cover arrived back in Sweden.
